Jan. 13-17

Math continued with division skills, trying to challenge ourselves with some mental division work.

In ELA, we returned to spelling. We challenged ourselves with a new style for the spelling test on Friday. Please remember that the spelling words are posted in Power School for student access. We continued to work on our novel final project. The due date for this project is this coming Thursday. Many students are truly enjoying the creation process, and we are looking forward to sharing our work with each other.

For Social, we have continued to take notes while watching our New France video. Some great discussions have happened along the way, and the students are making some insightful connections. Next week in Social will complete the video, and will take us to a textbook visit to round out our knowledge on the ideas of New France. Please engage your student in a conversation about what they have found interesting so far from the World's Collide film.

7 Science
Students did two days of a lab experiment where they learned about structural and behaviour adaptations, how environmental conditions affect an organism’s chance of survival. The concept survival of the fittest was covered. They are working on a graph for the data they've collected.
