January 20-24

Another fun week concluded.

In ELA this week, we concluded our novel study of Sees Behind Trees. The students took Thursday afternoon to share with eachother the work they completed. There were some fantastic projects shared!! We had many board games to explore, a few beautiful picture books, some interestingly packed backpackes, and some ingeniously personalized projects as well. All the students should feel proud of what they have completed. We concluded our week with spelling list #10.

For Social Studies, we have continued our New France visit. On Tuesday, we went to see Mrs. Fitz in the library to sign out our own textbook and began to read and respond to some primary source information about Samuel de Champlain and other important folks from the time. The textbook is to help us deepen our knowledge gained while watching the film World's Collide. Next week we will take some time to compare notes, and then will use our notes to complete a multi-format quiz.

In Math this week, we returned to playing Around the World in warm up, completed a three minute drill with some personal bests, and continued working with division.

7 Science
Students  worked on their graphs to visually represent the data they had collected. They also learned about interactions within ecosystems.
